PISCES: THE FISHES, ATLANTEAN ROYALTY

| FEBRUARY 19 – MARCH 20 |Color = Maroon |Tone B Major |

PISCES' SYMBOL
This symbol represents the two fish tied to each other by the tail. Like Gemini and Cancer, there is an aspect of eternal balance of the conscious and the unconscious. One fish represents the more assertive fish swimming upstream and the other fish is passive swimming downstream. The Vesica Pisces in Sacred Geometry represents collective consciousness. Since Pisces is the last zodiac sign, they represent the seeker at their highest self. Pisces is the Bodhisattva of the Zodiac. In some accounts the band between the two fish is considered the “band of death. The place where Aries Cardinal paw reignites the zodiac and spirals the zodiac forward in time.

PISCES' RULING PLANET
Pisces’ ruling planet is Neptune in modern astrology but traditionally it is associated with Jupiter. So while Neptune and the trident will always be the main association with Pisces, many astrologers work with Jupiter as a Co-Ruler with Neptune. Sagittarius Co-Rules Jupiter with Pisces and they share Thursday as their day of the week.

PISCES MYTH
Pisces is located in the sea of the constellations with Aquarius and Capricorn the Seagoat. There are a few myths involving Pisces. The  myth is the story of Aphrodite and Eros escaping Typhon. In one account Aphrodite and Eros are turned into fish and swim away. Mother and son had tied their tails together so they would not be separated. In an alternate version they turn into fish and are lead to safety by two fish.  The heroic efforts of the two fish had them immortalized amongst the constellations.

Pisces Decan I 0º-10º

February 18/19 – February 28/29

Decan I Pisces are pure Neptune and Jupiter influenced Piscean Prime! Those born in the first 10 days of Pisces tend to be the most intense and passionate emotionally and intuitively. Whether it’s Jupiter (classical astrology) or Neptune (modern ruler) adding to Pisces’ royal charm, most people can see the expansive social charms of Pisces contrasted with the more transpersonal “way out there” influence of Neptune and his magical trident reinforcing the cycle of birth, life and death as something humanity is learning to master.

This is the time period that produces faery like characters with vivid imagination along with the faith and tenacity to manifest dreams. For those of you that have your own natal chart available, you should not only see which house your planets are in, but also check the degrees to see if the planets was in Pisces between 0-10 degrees. Pisces I can read and sense a whole lot more than most people, but sometimes they are not focused enough to see to what extent their gifts can probe their environment. This brand of Pisces usually ends up being as spiritual as they are sensuous with a drive to leave the earth better than it was when they were born.

Decan I-The first 10 days of Pisces carry a much heavier influence of its ruler Neptune

Pisces Decan II 11º-19º

March 2nd/3rd – March 10/11th (Varies for “Leap Years”)

This decanate of Pisces is associated with the Cancer sector of the water sign and is therefore heavily influenced by THE MOON! This sector of Pisces people tend to be very good therapists for other people as their “sensitivity” gives them a level of perception and insight into others that makes them incredibly supportive, loving and nurturing. Because this group of Pisceans are gifted with sensing and interpreting the feelings of others, then naturally they would need plenty of time alone to recharge so that they maintain mental health and the social graces necessary for their survival and growth.
Since Pisces II people are empaths, naturally they are often seen as introverted “loners.” I suggest you consider Pisces II people to be “ambiverts” having qualities of both introverts and extroverts DEPENDING on the people/environment that they happen to be in. Like Cancer, these individuals tend to have a close knit group of friends and family that they shower their intimacy, support and trust upon so make sure that you are strong and loyal if you wish them to take your friendship seriously. One of the most important and often tough points to understand about these people is that they usually deal with a lot of tough burdens and challenges in their lives. The key is for them to remember that it is those challenges that are their blessings that lead to treasures. All of the tough situations push their imaginations to come up with great solutions while building the compassion and empathy necessary to support others without judgment.
Remember, while Pisces is known for being sweet and compassionate, they can become like a shark or a school of piranha when they feel betrayed. Since Pisces II is associated with Cancer, they can also be dragon-like when it comes to fiercely protecting loved ones.

Cancer_Moon_symbol.jpg

The Cancer symbol represents the claws of the crab and the Tomoe icons that create the yin-yang symbol. The Tomoe is simply a swirl that resembles a comma. One comma is the sun and the other is the moon on a small scale. On a large scale, the Cancer symbol represents Ouroboros, the dragon biting its own tail representing the ceaseless cycle of eternity.

Pisces Decan III 20º-29º

March 10/11th-March 19/20th – (Varies for “Leap Years”)

This sector of Pisces gives birth to the most eclectic visionary people of the zodiac. Pisces born here are just as scientific as they are philosophical. They are engineers and artist that validate that one does not have to be a left or right brained thinker as their existence is a demonstration of how the intellect and the intuition fuse to create higher thinking that influences everyone in their community. Sometimes their gifts are so vast that they can become complacent unless there is continual challenge that creates a cycle of renewal and reinvigoration.

This group of Pisces can hold onto conflicting ideas without feeling the need to choose. They are masters of discussing the subjective and the objective because their sharp perception makes it easier for them to identify where boundaries need to be withdrawn between perceived reality and objective fact. Keep in mind that this sector of Pisces is associated with Scorpio and is therefore classically ruled by Mars along with its contemporary ruler, the higher octave of Mars, Pluto. Thus, Pisces III tend to be deep thinking existentialist that explore quantum physics as easily as it explores every area of the arts. While this group of Pisces doesn’t need to know ALL of the answers, their imagination and their aptitude for engineering and science helps them to prove their theories over time. Be sure to give this variety of Pisces plenty of time to express the full extent of their genius without judgment.

Pisces III People learn how to transcend pain and challenges as they live. They often embody the regenerative characteristics associated with Pluto or the phoenix aspect of Scorpio!

Ruling Planets: Neptune and Jupiter

Neptune rules the magic itself, and how reality presents itself to us. Do not be afraid to tap into your magick now, remake your reality as you see fit. Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. It is considered a gas giant, but the chemical composition makes it more like an “ice giant.” Neptune has an orbit of about 165 earth years.

Keywords
Keywords are the variety of traits that are often associated with Pisces.

Ruling House #12

The twelfth House refers to the subconscious, the hidden self that exists apart from our physical everyday reality. This includes the unconscious mind, subconscious memory, subconscious habit patterns from the past, mental illness, karmic debts, self-deception, escapism, spiritual realization, limitations, frustration, and ultimately our self-undoing.

Planets in Pisces express themselves sensitively and in a rather diffuse or nebulous manner. The sign channels intangible impulses, and planets here are very receptive to signals on an ethereal level.

There is a strong tendency to dream and have fantasies, and an inclination to feel a sense of martyrdom. The enhanced emotional sensitivity in Pisces is often channeled into creative outlets, particularly in connection with the arts, music and film, but also in connection with nature, and people who need social care. Pisces is the sign of dreams, disappointments and spiritual enrichment.
